Dressing System i for Retail Success: Express Choose QSystem Monitor from CCSS

Attention QSystem Monitor Users!
Dear Customers, It's important to back up your PC configurations. Please read the below note from CCSS Product Manager, Paul Ratchford.

This is a reminder to all QSystem Monitor users that there exists the option to save your PC configurations to another directory on your PC or even to a directory on a file server. Once saved the configuration can be used in 2 ways:

1. It acts as a backup for your own PC configuration and can be restored in the event that your configuration is somehow corrupted.

2. It can be used as a template to restore to another PC that is running QSystem Monitor if you wish to standardize a particular configuration.

The files to back up the configuration (MSM-BACK) and subsequently restore it (MSM-RSTR) can be found in the usual Support Page on the CCSS web site .

Implement Money and Time Saving Strategies, Take Two

The Challenge:
"A user is complaining about delays but there seems to be no corresponding system issues. This makes it hard to repair the problem."

The Solution:
The user may be experiencing substantial delays because their application program is trying to access an object that is in use by another job. It feels like a delay to the user, but in fact, they are locked out. It is very difficult to diagnose lock wait status. So for this problem, QSystem Monitor (QSM) has a dedicated monitor to supply the average lock wait time per transaction for interactive users. If average times are exceeded, QSM immediately alerts managers, pre-empting complaints to the help desk.
