Problem: What are the CCSS Licensing Options?
Solution: CCSS offers several different licensing options to meet both the business & budgeting requirements of our customers. A traditional purchase option is available which consists of a one time license fee along with annual maintenance and support fees. We also provide a rental option which consists of a single monthly ‘all inclusive’ fee that has proven extremely beneficial for outsourcing and managed services companies, as well as companies trying to meet budget cut backs. We also offer enterprise licensing for large organizations that require the flexibility to have a standard business solution across multiple business divisions, or countries. Problem: Due to the economic pressures, we do not have the budget available this year to purchase the solutions, but we cannot afford the financial consequences of any downtime incidents that the solutions would prevent. Is there a licensing option for us?
Solution: Many businesses facing this very challenge have become CCSS customers by taking advantage of our rental option. This ensures they enjoy all the benefits of the CCSS products, support and maintenance immediately and only pay a single inclusive monthly fee. Some organizations prefer the standardization of a fixed monthly fee as it may be more complimentary to their immediate budget limitations and/or financing preferences.
Problem: We have a large environment with multiple IBM i systems that are LPAR’d. Will our configuration make the purchase of the solutions extremely expensive?
Solution: No! Our existing customer base already includes some of the world’s most complex and powerful LPAR IBM i environments. All of our licensing option, whether it is purchase or rental, consists of a single charge per serial numbered system, with no supplementary uplift fees for additional partitions. Maintenance and support is calculated for that one serial numbered system, again with no additional charges for the number of partitions you may have currently, or add in the future.
